And although there have been over 230+ "annual messages" in total (including written ones), the 2026 speech was one of the 101 spoken, in-person.

The obverse of the SOTU 2026 commemorative coin features a commanding American bald eagle in full spread, rendered in dramatic sculpted detail. Above the eagle appears the national motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” reinforcing the theme of unity.

At the eagle’s breast sits a shield marked “250,” commemorating America’s Sesquicentennial milestone. The eagle grasps traditional symbols of strength and peace, while the Liberty Bell and historic architectural elements anchor the lower field.

Encircling the design is the proud inscription “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” framed by a classic rope border that complements the obverse. Rich texturing and layered relief give the reverse a premium metallic appearance worthy of this historic tribute.

The reverse showcases a striking, high-relief depiction of the United States Capitol, symbolizing the seat of American democracy. Encircled by a bold rope-style border and a ring of stars, the design prominently displays the inscription “STATE OF THE UNION” across the top.
